How does the Osolian government work?
The Osolian government works to build a prosperous community, adopting and executing laws.
There are two branches of government: the Assembly and the executive.
The Assembly
You're part of the Assembly! Every Osolian is a voting member, choosing which laws we will all abide by.
All laws begin in the Assembly and are settled entirely by the Assembly.
The leader of the Assembly, the Speaker, is elected along with the Chief in a general election, held every two months. The Speaker runs the operations of the Assembly, arranging votes and meetings and maintaining records.
The executive
The executive is led by the Chief, who is elected together with the Speaker in the general election, along with the Chief's advisors (the Chief's Council) which are delegated to deal with specific matters of the state. For example, the Department of Infrastructure is created by the Chief and is led by the Director of Infrastructure, whose job it is to plan, build, and maintain Osolian public works.
The executive's primary job is to execute the laws and decisions passed by the Assembly.
Lastly, each Osolian city has its own governor, appointed by the Chief. The governor is in charge of local matters, making sure local issues are addressed immediately.
